PLAYGROUND SERIES
In the summer, I jump the fence of a local plant nursery to make ink drawings of the blossoms I see. It can often take 10 visits to the nursery to create one of these pieces. I spend a lot of time in observation and, line by line, trusting light and shape, I let the blossom come about. Using black and white to depict blossoms emphasizes its engineering and shape.
